About Me

My name is Catherine Horton. I am a native Texan currently living in Fort Worth with my husband and three sons. I have always been drawn to walking alongside people in their life experiences, especially those experiences riddled with pain and confusion. I first formally practiced this passion through Nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth. I worked full-time as an RN in hospitals for 10 years on a Pulmonary Medical/Surgical Unit, in Cardiac and Trauma ICUs, and in the Prep and Recovery for a Cardiac Cath Lab.  During this decade, I learned that my favorite part of being an RN was being a patient advocate by engaging in their confusion and pain and helping them take the steps they needed towards recovery. Through that work and through experiences in my own life, I saw how our physical health is often affected by our emotional and mental health. This deepened my passion as an advocate to walk alongside people as they healed in all areas of life, and it moved me towards engaging people in Story Work.  I am a level II trained facilitator in Narrative Focused Trauma Care through the Allender Center located in the Seattle School of Theology. My goal is to walk with you and advocate for you as you navigate the complexities, the pain, and the wonder of your own story and how that story has affected your relationship with God, with yourself and with others. My hope is that our time together will bring you healing and restoration.
